On a mission to support the right for inclusive enjoyment of sports entertainment, Pride House Birmingham is creating a safe, welcoming space and inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ supporters, allies and athletes during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
HDY jumped at the chance to partner with an organisation that represents so many of our values of diversity, inclusion and providing safe spaces for people to be their authentic selves.
The plan was simple. Build communities and generate excitement. Equipped with multiple rooms to watch the Games, the venue is also stocked with a bar for the drinkers, a dry space for teetotalers, arts, crafts, chill-out zones and more. Available over 18 days during the Commonwealth Games, Pride House Birmingham gave us plenty to shout about.
Developing a unique and recognisable brand, we designed a full social media style guide along with a range of social media content and videos to support the launch and involvement in Birmingham Pride.
With support from local clubs and bars we were able to promote our full poster campaign broadcasting the community led-mission around Birmingham.
Making an impact, we supported launch event coordination with Pride House Birmingham co-founder Piero Zizzi. Our influencer engagement campaign saw attendance and support from some big names in social media including Richard O’Gorman, interior stylist from @househomo and @grlgangbrum, the online community for women and marginalised genders.
Following our launch of Reels on Instagram, we racked up almost 10,500 views from video content, and since our work hit the streets of the Second City, it has caught the attention of more than 20,000 people at Birmingham Pride.
The results were fabulous to say the least, sparking engagement with supporters and members of the LGBTQIA+ community all over Birmingham.
